Today I visited Alien Fuel. This is a fantastic example of how entrepreneurs can find innovative clean tech solutions to respond to alien invasive species that are putting stress on our water bodies and at the same time provide energy security.
Workshop Overview This was an incredible opportunity to participate in 2 day workshop offered by Unido offering Capacity Building for Public Sector in Female Empowerment and Inclusion in the Green Economy. Course Content The two day train the trainer program also covered a comprehensive policy context of the green economy in South Africa and Gender bias and gaps. One of the key insights was how to use a gender lens to support Women Economic Empowerment in the Green Economy. Application of Gender Mainstreaming Tools and Methodologies to empower women in the Green Economy. The training was for local and municipal officers who works in policy, project development , M&E and procurement. Other interesting areas covered included: Gendered policy, Programmes and Implementation Plans Gendered Green Economy Value Chain Analysis Creating Action Plans that actively include Female-owned Entrepreneurs
